Peas Pulav is one of the delicious and tummy filling items among vegetarian recipes. It forms a wholesome food for lunch on lazy noons or even good to pack for lunch box. Here I present the method of preparation..
2 Cups Rice(Sona masuri/Basmati)
1 Cup Green Peas
¼ Cup grated dry coconut/endu kobbari
¾ tsp Dhaniya/Coriander powder
1 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
2 pcs Cinnamon stick/dalchin
5-6 Green Chillies
¼ cup Chopped Onions
1 medium sized tomato
¼ Cup Coriander Leaves/Kothimeera
2 tsp Jeera/Cumin
10 Curry Leaves
8-10 Pudina/Mint Leaves
Turmeric powder (little)
- Firstly grind coconut, dhaniya powder, ginger-garlic paste, onions, 4 Green chillies, cloves, cinnamon stick, tomato, coriander leaves into a paste by adding very little water.
- Heat 6-7 tsps of oil in a vessel, add jeera and Elachi. Now add some chopped onions (optional), 2 chopped Green chillies, Curry leaves, Pudina/Mint Leaves and fry for some time.
- Add little turmeric powder and the above masala paste and fry till raw smell vanishes. Now add green peas, salt and 3 ½ Cups of water and bring it to boil.
- Now add cleaned rice (I used sona masuri rice) and cook for 10-15 mins, i.e. till all the water is absorbed. Serve hot with cucumber raitha or any vegetable curry.
