Rayalaseema Spl. Masala Dosa

Veg Dry Fruit Dosa


This is a very special dish prepared in Proddatur of Kadapa (YSR Dist). It is very tasty and nutritious. The procedure is a little lengthy, but sure the outcome is delicious. The ingredients required and the method of preparation is as given below..


For Dosa:
3 Cups Rice
1 Cup Black gram dal/Minapappu
½ Cup Poha/Atukulu
1 tsp Methi seeds/Menthulu
{Soak all the above ingredients for 5-6 hours in water and grind into a soft batter… Leave it overnight and use it the next morning}
For Topping :
1 Cup Dry Coconut (grated)
4 Red Chillies
3 Cups Onion Chopped
1 Cup Fresh grated Coconut
3 Green Chillies
1 Cup chopped Tomatoes
1 Cup chopped Kaju/Cashewnuts
1 Cup Chopped Badam/Almonds
1 Cup Raisins/Kismis
1 Cup Chopped Apricots
Cooking Oil

  • Prepare Dosa batter on the previous day. Next morning add salt & cooking soda. Mix well, keep aside.
  • For White Chutney : Grind Fresh coconut, 1 cup onions, green chillies & Salt together.
  • For Red Chutney : Grind Dry coconut, 1 Cup onions, Red chillies & Salt together.


  • Now heat Dosa pan/skillet and pour batter, spread it to the required size and pour some ghee and cook. Now turn it to the other side and cook for a minute.
  • Again flip the dosa and keep the flame minimum. Now spread prepared red chutney and white chutney on the dosa.


  • Quickly spread some chopped onion, tomato, all the dry fruits one after the other.


  • Finally add a spoon of ghee over it. Fold it and serve hot with coconut chutney.
